HISTORY

Steel & Company was formed in 2002 after Steel wrote a song for the European Song Contest. He got together with three guys who all had previously played in another band. The song didn't make it to the Norwegian Song Contest, but it did great on the local hit radiostation for three months (2003). That's the time limit for participation on the radioshow  Top 8 on the local radiostation for Hedmark & Oppland. The song`s called "As long as I'm with you", also to be found on the new album "Endless time". The man behind all the songs is Steel or Ivar Staale Langholen. The name Staale, means Steel in English, and that's the name he has been called by since he was born back in 1969. He grew up in a good family with 3 brothers and a sister. He started playing his guitar when he was 9 years old, but did not appear on stage until the year of 1988 with a band called Slyboots. After that he did a lot of solo gigs playing bars around Norway. In 1991 he got the band Pure & Simple on the road and made his first album recorded live in 1998. Through all these years he has been writing loads of great songs just waiting to be recorded. He has tried several times to get a record deal, but with no luck at all. Now you can enjoy some of the music from Steel & Company on their new CD "Endless time...", and may it last forever in an endless time. This is the beginning of a band made to be what it is supposed to be. We will and can not be anything or anyone else then what we are today and what the future will make us. Steel & Company has been on the road since May 17th, 2003, and done a lot of great gigs around in Norway, and maybe they'll come to a town or a place near you one day. If so, then drop by and have a listen.. If the opportunity comes they won`t hesitate to take on a world tour.

With songs created from the heart of a man who has been through hell and back, they give you the emotional feelings, and with the lyrics, there's a story behind every song and note. What you hear is a piece of the heart and soul of a man who has suffered, and survived, and the music is a piece of what makes him go on, to see what lays ahead around the next corner, tomorrow. Well, it will come and as certain as that is so, so will also another song!

There’s changes everywhere, and on the 21. of June 2005, the band had to do some changes. The drummer and bassplayer had to leave the band(thanks guys for the good times!). But Steel will go on playing hes music.  From now on also be playing  unplugged in some places, and with the full Company-band in other places, but with a new drummer and bassplayer.
